Securus Technologies, a company that provides technological solutions in the civil and criminal justice fields, has made public several facility customer comments. The comments touch on the use of technology in solving and preventing crimes such as inmate-on-inmate crimes among others. A cross-section of comments regarding letters and email correspondence received from prison and jail officials throughout the country has been made public. The officials are mandated to prevent and solve crimes. They have another responsibility of ensuring that the imprisonment environment is humane enough. The names of respective state, counties and facility names have been deliberately omitted in these remarks and feedback to protect the innocent.
Securus Technologies Chairman and Chief executive officer, Richard A. Smith, says that they develop a new package every week to assist police officers and correction officials to solve and deter crimes. He further says they receive thousands of letters and emails regarding what Securus builds and what the company does to help in keeping the people, their families and the prisoners safe. Here are some of the comments.
- For over ten years now our correctional facility depends on Securus’ technology, which is an encouragement to see that our service provider is committed to the revolution of confinement environment and increasingly helping us enhance public safety within our control.
- Reporting data has also enhanced our agency’s preemptive measures in observing and preventing the use of smuggled goods in our facilities.
