OSI Food Solutions recently made a series of major announcements, one of which has vastly increased its footing in North America. The other has drastically increased its presence in the European food market of value foods that provide healthy, high-quality meats throughout over a dozen countries in Europe. The company has over 60 total facilities in nearly a dozen countries across Europe and North America. The recent moves has given OSI Food Solutions an even greater reach.
OSI Food Solutions has made some major moves in the last year to expand its global reach. The company has been a leader in the production of quality meats for decades, but recently has stepped up to vie for the role of industry leader with several new acquisitions.
OSI Food Solutions in Spain announced major growth in 2017. The company’s Spain unit alone has officially doubled its chicken production and distribution. The production of chicken went from around twelve thousand tons to a whopping twenty-four thousand tons of chicken, all of which is held to OSI’s extremely high standards of meat production. OSI Food Solutions prides itself on offering the best quality meats at affordable costs that can be distributed through multiple channels. Whether that is directly to restaurants or to grocery stores, the company and its entities are officially becoming a household name. The latest round of expansion for OSI Food Solutions in Spain has not only garnered it an impressive statistic of doubling its chicken production, it also has reached a landmark meat production of over forty-five thousand tons (that is tons, not pounds) of production of beef, pork and chicken products combined.
Of course, with this expansion and with the addition of its new high-capacity production lines, many jobs have been added to the company. This influx of new jobs comes at a great time and is a contributor to the company’s overall boost to the economies in the regions where its main centers are located.
In the United States, OSI Food Solutions has taken a large foothold with the purchase of Tyson Foods. We all know Tyson, as the company has been a household name since our partners and our grandparents were purchasing chicken and other meat products. Along with the purchase of Tyson comes the purchase of underlying brands that Tyson oversees. These include prolific names such as Jimmy Dean and Ballpark. The purchase is exclusively tied to the Chicago plant that totals over 200,000 square feet.
